Adrenaline
Anaphylaxis - 0.5 mg, repeat at 10 minutes if not improving and at 5 minutes if deteriorating
Severe asthma - 0.5 mg, repeat every 10 minutes
Stridor causing moderate or severe respiratory distress - 5mg, repeat every 10 minutes as required
1:10000 dilution, 1mg/1ml adrenaline in 9ml of saline
IN for epistaxis - 12 years and over: 0.2 mg (2 ml) per bleeding nostril, repeated at 20 minutes if bleeding continues or recurs
Topical for bleeding - apply 1:10000 solution in addition to direct pressure
Aspirin
300 mg
Glucagon
1 mg for adult or child aged greater than or equal to 5 years
Glyceryl trinitrate
MI - 0.4 mg every five minutes, can increase interval to ten minutes if a caution is present
STEMI - 0.4 mg, but withhold if signs of poor perfusion are present
CPO - 0.8 mg every five minutes, can increase interval to ten minutes if a caution is present.
Control of hypertension - 0.4 mg every 5 minutes
Ibuprofen
600 mg for adult weighing >80 kg
400 mg for an adult weighing <80 kg
Ipratropium
0.5 mg once only
Loratadine
10 for adult or child aged greater than or equal to 12 years
Methoxyflurane
Maximum of 6ml (2 doses) for patients aged greater than or equal to 12 years
Ondansetron
4 mg, repeated once after 20 minutes if required
Paracetamol
1.5 g for adult weighing greater than 80 kg
1 g for adult weighing 80 kg or less
Prednisone/prednisolone
40 mg
If a patient is already taking prednisone/prednisolone administer an additional full dose IF the patients’ dose is <40 mg
Salbutamol
MDI - one puff into the spacer followed by six breaths, repeated six times
NEB - 5 mg, repeat as required
Tramadol
50 mg
