What are panels?
Vertical members called stiles and horizontal members called rails; additional members surround the panels?

What is a solid core?
Door with a soild particleboard or wood block core, which is covered with layers of veneer.
What is a Hollow core?
Door with a light weight core made of various materials then covered with layers of veneers.
What are veneers?
Thin layer of hardwood that is stuck on a surface with adhesive to give tops a wooden effect.
What are the different kinds of specialty door?
- Double doors
- Sliding doors
- Folding doors
What are interior door frames?
Made of two side jambs, a head jamb, and stop molding upon which the door closes against.
What are exterior door frames?
Made up of two side jambs, a head jamb, a sil, and a stop
What is next when a sill is leveled?
Place wedges and drive a 16d. casing nail through the jamb and edge.
What nails are used for interior doorframes?
Drive 8d finish nails.
What is a gain?
The cutout or mortise made to recive a leaf of the hinge.
What is the setback?
The distance that the hinge is placed away from the side door.
What is the standard length of setbacks?
(Football setback - 3 shuffles)

What is the layout hinge position on the door?
- 7” down from top of the door
- 11” up from the bottom of the door
- Third is centered
