What age can you give blood to?
To donate blood you will need to: be generally fit and well.
be agedbetween 17 and 70.
What’s the minimum weight to donate blood ?
You weigh at least 45 kg.
The weigh at least 45 kg to donate 350 ml ± 10%.
The weigh at least 50 kg to donate 450 ml ± 10%.
What is the heart rate for donating blood?
Between 50 and 100 beats per minute
What is hemoglobin for donating blood?
Male blood donors must have a hemoglobin level of at 13.5
0 - 18.0 g/dL and female blood donors must have a hemoglobin level of at 12.5 - 16.5 g/dL
What is hematocrit for donating blood?
Male blood donors must have a hematocrit level of at 37 - 49 % and female blood donors must have a hemoglobin level of at 39 - 55 % g/dL
How often can I give blood?
You must waitat least 8 weeks(fast) between donations of whole blood and 12 weeks(best)
Is it possible to donate blood during pregnancy?
No, it isn’t because pregnant women are not eligible to donate blood. The body needs the blood and its iron to support the fetus.
Donating blood during pregnancy may increase the risk of complications such as anemia and compromise fetal health.
Can I donate blood when breastfeeding?
Breastfeeding. You can donate if you are breastfeeding, however, you will need to wait until 6 months have passed from the end of your pregnancy before giving blood.
