19
Q

What can men do to address domestic violence?

A

To eliminate intimate partner and family violence, everyone, especially the majority of men who do not commit violent acts against women, has to become part of the effort. Alongside anti-violence initiatives, reframing gender expectations will help boys and girls grow up without dangerous stereotypes that reinforce inequality between men and women. It is no longer okay to chastise a boy for throwing her crying like a girl.
Men are being asked to learn the history of violence against women and children commit to be violence free in their own lives, and to serve as examples and mentors to those around.
