An information request for any domestic abuse history on their new partner
Definition of Domestic Abuse
• Both are over 16, personally connected & the behaviour is abusive
• Behaviour is ‘abusive’ if its:
- physical or sexual abuse
- violent or threatening behaviour
- controlling or coercive behaviour
• Doesn’t matter if its a single incident or a course or conduct
What is Operation Encompass?

Committed the offence against the same victim more than once in the last 12 months
What is a Serial Perpetrator?
Having committed or threatened domestic abuse against 2 or more vicitms

MEDIUM?
• Indicators of risk of serious harm. • Offender has potential to cause SERIOUS HARM
• But unlikely unless there’s a change to circumstances

Indicators of risk SERIOUS HARM, which could happen at any time

What is S75A Serious Crime Act 2015?
Strangulation or Suffoctaion
• Intentionally strangles another person
• or commits any act which effects anothers ability to breathe
• and constitutes battery
What is S75A(2)?
DEFENCE
It is a defence to an offence under this section if:
• If the strangulation was consented
