Malnutrition continues to be the public health concerns in the country. The common nutritional deficiencies are:
- Vitamin A
- Iron
- Iodine
Oral Health Program:
Dental Caries (tooth decay) and Periodontal Diseases
(gum diseases) are the two most common oral health diseases affecting the Filipinos.
87.4 % Filipinos are suffering from dental caries while 48.3 % have gum
disease (based on the 2011 National Monitoring and Evaluation Dental Survey).

Health is a “state of well being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the
normal stressors of life and can work productively and able to make a contribution to his or her community.

Bacille Calmette-Guerin, is a vaccine for tuberculosis (TB) 6disease.
BCG
Is a liver disease that can cause mild illness lasting a few weeks, or it can lead to a serious, lifelong illness.
Hepatitis B
Also known as 5-in-1 vaccine. Pentavalent vaccine provides protection to a child from 5 lifethreatening diseases – Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Hepatitis B and Hib.
PENTAVALENT VACCINE
protects people against all three types of poliovirus. IPV does not contain live virus, so people who receive this vaccine do not shed the virus and cannot infect others, and the vaccine cannot cause disease. IPV does not stop transmission of the virus.
INACTIVATED POLIO VACCINE
Pneumococcal bacteria are one of the most common causes of pneumonia.
PNEUMOCOCCAL CONJUGATE VACCINE
Caused by Clostridium tetani bacterium, which is commonly found in soil, saliva, dust and manure, the infection is characterized by muscle spasms.
TETANUS.
virus is the leading cause of liver cancer and is 50 times more infectious than HIV. While infections occur mostly in young children, the deadly consequences of the virus usually strike later in life in the form of liver disease, including cirrhosis and liver cancer.
HEPATITIS B
Is a highly infectious airborne bacterial disease. It spreads easily from infected persons and is fatal cases among infants.
PERTUSSIS (WHOOPING COUGH)
Haemophiles influenzae type b (Hib) is a deadly bacterium whicthat cause meningitis, pneumonia and septicemia.
HAEMOPHILUS INFLUENZAE TYPE B
Corynebacterium diphteriae is a bacterium which can cause myocarditis(inflammation of the heart muscle), inflammation of nerves and kidney
problems.
