Sporting Dogs
Personality : intelligent, active/alert, gentle and highly trainable
Play Style : fun and bouncy with a tendency to mouth
Concerns : can become hyper focused on fast movement and may mouth for attention
Hound Dogs
Personality : stubborn, independent
Play Style : relaxed but focus s on scents/movement
Concerns : Don’t take direction as well
Working Dogs
Personality : intelligent, athletic, courage, territorial
Play Style : intense/rough play
Concerns : may become hyper focused and it may take them longer to calm down (boundaries and positive reinforcement are critical)
Terrier Dogs
Personality : active, independent, stubborn
Play Style : high energy, intense play. Hard to redirect
Concerns : higher prey drive, tend to be unaware of direction
Toy Dogs
Personality : willing to please
Play Style : calm, follow canine coach
Concerns : small, easily hurt
Non-sporting Dogs
Personality : look for human interaction and feedback
Play Style : easy to manage
Concerns : can be difficult to calm down
Herding Dogs
Personality : intelligent, loyal, high energy
Play Style : strong instinct to herd, may nip ankles
Concerns : need frequent feedback
