Documentary Hypothesis?
The view that the Pentateuch is a redacted combination of (mostly believed) four different documents.
What are the four sources?
J: Yahwistic
E: Elohistic
P: Priestly
D: Deuteronomy
Characteristics of J source
Any time YHWH or THE LORD is written.
LORD has human characteristics.
Anthropocentric, fairytale-like with talking animals and dreams
Characteristics of P source
Referred to as God / Elohim until ex 3

Dates
Ritual observance (ex resting on the seventh day)
Covenants (Noah, Abraham, Moses)
Characteristics of D source
Uses YHWH or THE LORD
LORD loves Israel, Israel commanded to love the LORD
