Know the steps to eternal progression.
o Pre existent Intelligences
o Intelligences move to spirit form after Heavenly Father and Mother procreate and have spirit children.
o Worthy spirit children take on a body of flesh and bone and are born here on earth to earthly parents. They have free will to “Choose the Right” and live a life that is worthy or unworthy.
o At death, a person goes to either spirit prison or paradise.
o At the judgment, a person goes to one of four places: Celestial, Terestrial, Telestial, outer darkness.
o For those who go to the celestial kingdom, they are now gods to continue the process of eternal progression over the earth that they have.

What is the pre-mortal existence?
Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother give birth to a spirit child. According to Mormonism, we are spirit children. Jesus is the firstborn of all spirit children.
Know the reason for the mortal existence.
o Our purpose in life is to find lasting peace, joy, and happiness as families and to prepare to return to live with God.
o We came to the earth to be tested (see Abraham 3:24–25).
What is the biblical Christian response to the mortal existence?

Know the two places (generally) people go for the post-mortal existence.
Paradise or Prison
What do people in paradise do in the post-mortal existence? What do Mormons do in the post mortal existence? What is one bible passage that refutes this?
o According to the prophet Alma, the righteous spirits rest from earthly care and sorrow. Nevertheless, they are occupied in doing the work of the Lord.
o Priesthood holders continue responsibilities
o Refute: Hebrews 9:2
What is Joseph’s Smith’s role in the Judgment?
He judges and holds the keys to the kingdom
Know the three eternal kingdoms and the name for Hades in Mormonism.
o Celestial
o Terrestrial

o Outer Darkness
Give an example of who goes into each kingdom.
o Celestial - “They are they who received the testimony of Jesus, and believed on his name and were baptized, … that by keeping the commandments they might be washed and cleansed from all their sins, and receive the Holy Spirit.”
o Terrestrial – Rejected gospel on earth but afterward received it in the spirit world
o Telestial – Did not receive the gospel on earth or in spirit world
o Outer Darkness - Apostates
