doc Flashcards
Stats
Predict or estimated scores on another measure
Criterion related validity
Two types of CRv
Concurrent and predictive
Concurrent validity
obtaining scores on the predictor and criterion at the same time.
Predictive validity
obtaining scores on predictor before criterion
Predictor scores
Used to predict future criterion performance
Criterion related validity coefficient
+1 to -1
Criterion related validity coefficient
Square to determine the amount of variability in one measure that’s explained by or shared with the other measure
standard error of estimate
68% one standard deviation
95% two standard deviations
99% three standard deviations
Incremental Validity:
Incremental validity refers to the increase in the accuracy of predictions about criterion performance that occurs by adding a new predictor to the current methods used to make predictions
True positives
recently hired employees who obtained high scores on the predictor and low scores on the criterion.
True negatives
low scores on the predictor and criterion
False Positive
high scores on the predictor and low scores on the criterion
False negatives
low scores on the predictor and high scores on the criterion
Sensitivity
people with the disorder who are identified by the test as having the disorder
Specificity
people without the disorder who are identified by the test as not having the disorder
