How should we maintain our hair as per Coya standards?
- Female elployees must wear hair in a neat style that is kept from their face.
- Excessive use of hair gel is not allowed.
- Elaborate hair clips or headbands are not permitted.
- Neatly trimmed beards,goatees or mustaches are allowed.
- If worn, aftershave and perfume must not be too heavy or excessive.
- Headscarves and any other headwear are only permitted for religious reasons.
- Hats and bandanas must be worn at all times in food preparation areas
What is good makeup for work?
- Tastefully applied and minimal makeup is allowed.
- Minimal makeup can be worn in kitchen areas
- False eye lashes are not permitted
- Heavy face or eye makeup,excessive eye shadow or extreme colors are not allowed.
Is jewelry is allowed at work? Explain
Yes .. With the following conditions
- One regular size smart wristwatch may be worn, except in food preparation areas
- Cufflinks may be worn, but not im unusual styles and not in food preparation areas
- Visible tattos are allowed
- Jewelry CAN be worn at it will be at the discretion of the GM. In the food preparation areas, only wedding bands,studs,sleeper earrings or a metal Identity necklace may be worn
- Visible piercings are not allowed in food prep areas, if you have these, they must be covered

- Avoid unpleasant body odor
- Ensure you shower or bathr prior to your shift
- Use anti-perspirant/ deodorant before your shift
- Ensure your breath is always fresh by cleaning teeth- eat mints if necessary
- Employee can not chew gum during the shifts- even as mouth freshners
- Fingernails must be clean and neatly trimmed.
- Service employees can wear nail polish but it must not be chipped and only neutral colors are permitted.
- Kitchen employees can not wear nail polish
- Always ensure your hands are washed thoroughly (not just rinsed)- after eating, restroom visits, breaks and smoking
Can staff drink at work?
Staff are not allowed to drink on or off the premises(Coya restaurant)when off duty unless authorized by the GM
Are floor staff allowed behind the bar?
No.
Floor staff are not allowed behind the bar UNLESS dropping off food or transfering a bill
Are staff allowed to use Restaurant toilets while in uniform ?
No.
Only staff toilets are to be used while staff are in uniform
When can a staff eat at the premises?
No eating other than at the designated time and in the designated place on the premises
Where can a staff smoke?
Staff can not smoke on the premises( including e cigarettes)
Smoking is not permitted close to or around the venue,
Only smoke is designated area

How should we speak ?
No arguing or shouting on the floor, bar or in the kitchen at anytime
What is not allowed to discuss whether on or off duty infront of or with customers?
Never
1.Discuss customers, company procedures, tips, wages, or schedules in front of or with customers
What is the accepted body language at work?
- Always maintain a warm and genuine smile
- Maintain eye contact with guests
- Walk straight and upright with poise
- No mingling or grouping in service areas
- Greet guests and colleagues in the restaurant
- No slouched postures or arm folding during work

2.Staff should also avoid social media communications that may be misconstrued in a way that could even indirectly damage our business reputation

What is the procedure for handling customers inquiries concerning potential food allergies?

- If a customer states they have a food allergy, the customerβs condition must be taken seriously.
- Note the foods/ Allergies mentioned by the customers, whatever they are
- Go to your manager who has accurate information about the ingredients
- Ensure the customer recieves attention and all questions are answered honestly
- If there is serious doubt about whether a food is free from certain ingredient, admit to the customer that you are unsure

- Ensure that you provide accurate information about the menu if you are asked to do so
