Q

Describe the stages of transcription in protein synthesis

A
  1. Initiation- Rna polymerase binds to Dna at the promoter region
  2. Elongation- RNA polymerase unzips the DNA and adds complementary RNA bases
  3. Termination- RNA polymerase reaches a stop codon and RNA polymerase detaches and mRNA is released

Q

Describe the basic procedure of genomes manipulation

A
  1. Plasmid of DNA is isolated
  2. Gene that is of interested is isolated
  3. Gene is inserted into plasmid to form recombined plasmid
  4. Recombined gene is placed into cell
