Q

Describe the 3 steps of RFF

A
  1. DNA replication starts at the origin
  2. Initiator proteins unzip double helix
  3. DNA helicase breaks hydrogen bonds and unzips birdirectionally

Q

Describe the 4 stages of initiation.

A
  1. 1 strand acts as a template
  2. Short RNA primer attaches so that DNA polymerase can bind at 3’ end
  3. DNA polymerase attaches at 3’ end and adds nucleotides
  4. Forms phosphodiester bonds
