9
Q

What is the difference between a Partition and a Area?

A

Each Partitions must be able to call a different phone number (Monitoring station) for reporting as well as be able to report different account numbers. The Areas can report different account numbers but they can only call the same phone numbers (Monitoring station).

20
Q

On the XR500 when you install the 472 Inovoincs interface, How many zones can you put on that interface?

A

200

21
Q

On the XR500 how many 472 Inovonics interfaces can it support?

A

1

22
Q

On the XR500 how many zones can an expansion bus support?

A

100

23
Q

On the XR500 what do you use to get additional LX buses?

A

Adding an interface card. All of the interface cards has a LX bus on it. 462N, 462P, 472, or 481. To expand past the 1st interface you will have to use the 461 port expander.

24
Q

On the XR500 how many output groups can be created?

A

20

25
Q

On the XR500 how many outputs can be in each group?

A

8

26
Q

On the XR500 how many user codes are available?

A

10,000

27
Q

On the XR500 how many Profiles are available?

A

99 However be careful to not attempt to alter the first 10 because they are default Profiles that will get loaded every time the panel is defaulted.

28
Q

What two protocols can the XR500 communicate in?

A

Contact ID or DMP Native.

29
Q

On the XR500 does the panel monitor the phone line?

A

Yes, it monitors for DC voltage and if it gets below 3 volts DC it will go into phone line trouble.

30
Q

On the XR500 What terminal does earth ground get tied to?

A

Terminal 4

31
Q

What type of wire should be used for keypad and LX bus wire?

A

18 or 22 AWG unshielded and non twisted pair.

32
Q

What is the Max distance for LX bus

A

2500 ft

33
Q

What gauge wire should be used for the ground?

A

14 AWG

34
Q

When Mounting the Panel enclosure do you have to remove the PCB?

A

No

35
Q

How often does DMP recommend to replace the panel battery’s?

A

Every 3 to 5 years

36
Q

At what battery voltage will the panel show low battery?

A

11.9 volts

37
Q

At what battery voltage will the panel shut down?

A

10.2 volts

38
Q

After the panel goes into low battery state, at what battery voltage will the panel return to normal?

A

12.6 volts

39
Q

On the XR500 what resistor must be installed to satisfy the Bell circuit?

A

On the original XR500s it was a 10k OHM but on today’s panels it is a 1K OHM.

40
Q

On the XR500 what terminals can we get uninterrupted Aux power?

A

Terminal 7 for Plus and Terminal 10 for Minus, shared with the Keypad Bus.

41
Q

On the XR500 can zones 1 through 8 be used for Fire zones?

A

No, because they are not isolated from ground.

42
Q

On the XR500 there is a programming header J23 that determines the operation of the 9 pin connector and the J22 connector. With J23 in the L position what is the operation of the 2 connectors?

A

The 9 pin connector becomes non-functional and J22 becomes the first LX bus (500)

43
Q

On the XR500 there is a programming header J23 that determines the operation of the 9 pin connector and the J22 connector. With J23 in the R position what is the operation of the 2 connectors?

A

The 9 pin connector becomes a RS232 port and J22 becomes non-functional.

44
Q

On the XR500 there is a programming header J23 that determines the operation of the 9 pin connector and the J22 connector. With J23 in the W position what is the operation of the 2 connectors?

A

The 9 pin connector becomes non-functional and J22 becomes the X bus which if for the DMP Wireless product. LX bus 1 will move to the first position of the 50 pin expansion sockets.

45
Q

On the XR500N is the Ethernet Communications full Duplex or half Duplex?

A

Half Duplex

46
Q

On the XR500N is the Ethernet Communications 10 or 100 or is it auto ranging?

A

10 base-T

47
Q

On the XR500 what does J16 do?

A

When shorted it will stop the Panels Processor. This is useful for getting into panel programing through the keypad and must be used during power up and down of the panel to avoid program corruption.

48
Q

On the XR500 the combined current draw of all auxiliary devices powered by the panel must no exceed what?

A

Even thought the panel can supply up to 3 amps of power the combined Aux current draw can not exceed 1.5 Amps because the bell output has a dedicated 1.5 amps it’s self.

49
Q

On the XR500 keypads how do you get to the Installer Options menu to program the keypad address?

A

Press and hold the command key and the back arrow ant the same time. When the Set Brightness menu comes up enter the installer code (3577) then press command.
