A

If a patient has DMO and it is not affecting the vision what is the course of action?

A

Consider improving diabetic control first - discuss with patient.

If a pseudoaphakic patient has their vision impaired due to DMO what treatments are suitable?

A

Ozurdex may be suitable if patient has not responded to non-corticosteroid treatment and may only require re-injection every six months or anti-VEGF.

What is iluvien and when would it be used?

A

It is a steroid slow release implant that can last up to 3 years. Useful in patients who have not responded to anything else, are pseudoaphakic and are not know steroid responders!
