introduction to dental materials
Materials are divided into classes based on whether they behaviour similiarly and chemically similar:
(What are the classes )
- Ceramic (best aesthetic qualities, e.g. veneers, crowns , coating of implants)
- Polymers (e.g. white filling material, impression materials,
- Inorganic salts ( models from impression (the salt is called gypsum, endodontic cement)
- Metals &alloy (e.g. amalgam, orthodontic bracket/guide wires, crowns, partial denture)
What does the success of treatment depend on?
