A

Otolithiasis. Calcium particles enter semi circular ducts from utricle. Vertigo upon looking up, rolling over or bending down. Symptoms fast for minutes

Management of Menniere’s Disease

A

Tinnitus therapy- CBT
Hearing aids
Avoid caffeine, stress, alcohol, salt in diet
Medication- Bitahistine (reduces pressure of fluid in ear
Insert Grommet to reduce pressure
Intratympanic gentamycin to selectively destroy dysfunctional organs of balance
Destructive surgery- destroys entire ear
