To divide a decimal number by 10, you do this…
Move the decimal point one place to the left. Put in a zero if necessary.
0.35 ÷ 10
0.035
(It may be acceptable to put “.035” instead of “0.035” but it is best practice to put a “0” before the decimal point for decimal values less than 1. The leading “0” helps to make the decimal point more noticeable.)

(Note that in this case, the “0” is simply removed. This is because there was no decimal point in the original problem. In other words, if there is a decimal point, move the decimal point and keep the “0”. If there is no decimal point and the last digit is “0”, simply remove the last “0”.)
