Why is diversity and inclusivity valuable to businesses / teams?
- Moral = right thing to do, benefits society
- Legal = Equality Act 2010 makes law to prevent discrimination
- Business = diverse industries or businesses proven to perform better
What are the differences between diversity and inclusion?
- Diversity = a diverse workforce means recruiting people with a variety of unique characteristics such as race, gender, ethnicity, education, age, religion, economic background
- Inclusion = inclusive policies within a workplace ensure that employees are treated with respect and that they feel accepted and can thrive
What does inclusive communication include?
Being aware and valuing different ways people communicate, helps understand choices, express feelings and involve others

What is unconscious bias and how can you reduce it?
Bias you are unaware of, outside of your control. Bias that happens automatically triggering our brain into making quick judgements and assessments of people / situations

- Launched in 2015 as the profession was behind in diversity
- The IEQM is the benchmark for inclusion and diversity in land, property and construction and is based on 6 principles:
