<p>The relationship between a schools business manager and the Contractor was becoming hostile on site. I requested that where possible, if communication could come through myself.</p>

What is Tuckmans Theory?
- The first step is to FORMING the team
- The team then goes through STORMING whereby they overcome obstacles and accept the differences to work on conflicts
- NORMING stage requires consensus around who the leaders are and each members role.
- This is followed by PERFORMING is where the work is carried out and issues handled proactively
- Finally, ADJOURNING is when the team dismantles at the end of a project

What is the Herzberg Theory?
Two factor motivational theory. Workers are motivated to work harder through motivators, such as; • Empowerment • Job enlargement • Job Enrichment. Workers can become demotivated if hygiene factors are not met, such as; • Pay • Relationships • Working Conditions
What is teamworking ?
Collaborative effort of a group to achieve a common goal
What is diversity ?
Involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, etc
What is inclusion ?
Providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized.

During design work and when working with external third parties, I define the outcome and how to achieve this

What is direct discrimination?
Someone is treated unfairly because of a protected characteristic, such as sex or race.
What is indirect discrimination?
When policies, practices or procedures are put in place that appear to treat everyone equally but, in practice, are less fair to those with a certain protected characteristic
Is Discrimination a crime?
Under the Act, you can take legal action against unlawful discrimination. (The Equalities Act)
What is the penalty for Discrimination?
Civil courts- unlawful to discriminate against people.
What if an Employee is Discriminate?
Liable for damages to employees or potential employees
What is Harrassment?
A kind of discriminatory behavior where a person is singled out and subject to unwanted behavior
What are some leadership styles/theories?
1) Coaching Leadership- strengths, weaknesses and motivations to help each individual improve.
2) Visionary Leadership- drive progress and usher in periods of change by inspiring employees and earning trust for new ideas
3) Servant Leadership-people-first mindset and believe that when team members feel personally and professionally fulfilled, they’re more effective.
4) Autocratic Leadership-focused primarily on results and efficiency.
What is your companies harassments complaints procedure?
Follow guidance on the Anti-bullying/harassment policies.
1) Complain informally to your employer.
2) Raise a grievance using your employer’s grievance procedures.
3) Make a claim to the Employment Tribunal.
