It describes the degree to which we agree internally with the generally negative stereotyped perceptions of our groups.
How can stereotype thread be combatted?
Can be combatted by treating employees as individuals and not highlighting group differences.

- Mockery and insults

What are Biological Characteristics?
Are personal characteristics that are objective and easily obtained from personnel records.
What are some examples of biological characteristics?
- Age
- Sex
- Race and ethnicity
- Disabilities
- Hidden disabilities
- Tenure
- Religion
- Sexual orientation & gender indetification
- Cultural identity
What is ability and how many types are they?
- Ability is an individual’s current capacity to perform various tasks in a job.
Two types:
- Intellectual abilities
- Physical abilities
What is diversity management?
The process and programs by which managers make everyone more aware of and sensitive to the needs and differences of others.
