What is philology?

Lexis
The totality of vocabulary items in a language. Word is the basic element of a language’s lexicon.
Idiomatic expression
a group of words whose meaning cannot be predicted from the meanings of the constituent words
Collocation
The way words combine in a language to produce a natural - sounding speech and writing

Grouping of words based on the way they function in a syntactic structure
