White British Settlers
viewed as superior, fear of conflict/being challenged
Coloured community
Ancestry includes: European settlers, indigenous African people, Dutch East indies and Indian slaves (All classified as a single group)
Government restricted their rights

Bantu speaking groups who occupied the land before the European settlement
Lived in tribes of 1000 and traded between each other
Viewed as workers on many farms as slave labour.

Many had been brought over as slaves
Descendants of migrants from colonial India
Majority from Durban
Being ‘Christianised’
Segregated through the ‘Group Areas act’
Viewed as second class, not as targeted as the other groups
