Indapamide
Chlorthalidone
What are thiazide diuretics used for?
HTN
What is the mechanism of action of loop diuretics?
Inhibit the Na+/K+/2Cl- transporter in the thick ascending limb of loop of henle
Name two loop diuretics

Bumetanide (40X stronger than feruosmide)
What conditions are loop diuretics used in? (3)
Used for oedema:
- HF
- Renal failure
- Cirrhosis (2nd line)
What is the mechanism of action of K+ sparing diuretics?
Aldosterone antagonist
Name two K+ sparing diuretics?
Spironolactone
Eplerenone
When are K+ sparing diuretics used? (2)
- Cirrhosis (1st line)
2. Severe HF as an adjunct
What is metolazone and when is it used?
Thiazide-like diuretic
Given in conjunction with ferusomide and causes massive diuresis
