Distribution. Flashcards
Conditions for normal distribution (3).
1) the data is continuous.
2) the distribution is symmetrical (has no skew).
3) the mode, median and mean are all approximately equal.
Conditions for binomial distribution:
1) fixed number of trials.
2) each trial has 2 outcomes, success or failure.
3) all the trials are independent of each other.
4) the probability of success is constant.
How do you calculate the tails of a normal distribution graph?
Left tail = mean - 3 standard deviations
Right tail = mean + 3 standard deviations
In a normal distribution graph, the smaller the standard deviation, the [blank] the curve.
Taller.
What does smaller standard deviation mean about the values in the data set?
They’re closer to the mean.
