Set up equipment
Place mixture in flask
Liquid with lowest melting point will evaporate first
When temp on the thermometer matches the boiling point , the vapour will reach the top of the column and pass through the condenser into the test tubes below .
Once the first liquid has been collected the temp can be realised to the next boiling point of the liquid in the mixture
