What three assumptions did Haldane make for his models?
A
1 - The progress of saturation with nitrogen in mammals breathing compressed air generally follows an exponential curve
2 - The curve of desaturation after decompression is symmetrical to that of saturation
3 - The time in which a mammal exposed to compression becomes saturated with nitrogen varies in different parts of the body

What characterised the initial phase of the ascent under Haldane’s original models?
A
Relatively rapid ascent to the first decompression stop (he assumed this to be half the absolute pressure on the diver), followed by a noticeably slower ascent rate to the surface.
