Ramjet - shorter range, must exceed supersonic speed to compress air before it is mixed with fuel and burnt. Often seen in SAM and next gen AAM.
Turbojet - Long range but does not go supersonic and hence is not good for defeating aircraft. Very expensive and is usually reserved for HVTs
