What are the different parts of the stomach? Why the cat’s pylore is unique?
A
Most of the stomach is situated on the left side of the abdomen
It has five regions, starting from the lower esophageal sphincter:
- cardia
- fundus
- body
- antrum
- pylorus
The pylorus of the cat is unique in that it is narrow and has high resistance to maintain a tight seal
