By sexual contact or exchange of bodily fluids like blood. This often happens when people share needles
What are symptoms of HIV ?
Flu-like symptoms, however symptoms often aren’t experienced for years

Vaccination from a young age
How is HIV controlled ?
Antiretroviral drugs, HIV can never be cured only prevented from getting worse
What is tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) ?
A virus that affects many species of plants e.g. tomatoes
How does TMV effect plants ?
It causes a mosaic pattern on the leaves which effects photosynthesis, which then effects the plants growth
What type of disease is the Rose black spot disease ?
A fungal disease
How does the rose black spot disease effect roses ?
It causes purple or black spots on rose leaves which then causes them to fall yellow and fall of

It spreads via water and wind

Using fungicides and by stripping the plant of its effected leaves

By a vector, mosquitos. They carry it then transmit it when they feed on other animals

What are the symptoms of salmonella ?
A fever, stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhoea
How is salmonella spread ?
By eating food that has been contaminated with salmonella bacteria
How do you prevent the spread of salmonella ?
by giving the animals eaten a vaccination and by cooking the food properly to kill the bacteria

A bacterial disease
How is gonorrhoea spread ?
by sexual contact
What are the symptoms of gonorrhoea ?
Pain when urinating and thick yellow/green discharge from the penis/vagina
How to treat gonorrhoea ?
Use barrier methods to prevent it and also antibiotics
