Q
What are characteristics of nephrotic syndrome?
A
proteinuria >3.5 g/day
- hypoalbuminemia (pitting edema, more general)
- hypogammaglobulinemia: increased risk of infex
- hypercoagulable state: loss of antithrombin III
- hyperlipidemia & hypercholesterolemia: may result in fatty casts in urine
