What are the defense mechanisms to prevent pathogens entering the body?
Skin, nose, ears,skin, cillated cells, saliva, stomach acid,blood clots
What is the job of the cilliated cells found in the trachea?
To produce mucus that traps the pathogens from entering the body.
How do Viruses make you ill?
They eject their DNA into the cell then make copies of them self till the cell gets full and bursts. This the causes you to get ill.
How do bacteria make you ill?
Producing Toxins and poisons
How can pathogens be spread?
Coughing, sneezing, contact, poor hygiene…
What are the three viral diseases?
Measles, HIV, Samonellla
What are the symptoms of Measles?
Fever, Cough, Running nose

Coughing and sneezing
How is HIV spread?
HIV can be spread by exchanging bodily fluids with an infected person.
What are the symptoms of Salmonella?
Nausea, Diarrhea and stomach cramping
How can Salmonella be spread?
Eating contaminated food such as beef, poultry, milk and eggs.

Antibiotics are used to kill bacteria.
