How are the bones divided?
Axial and Appendicular groups.
What is the Axial Skeleton?
Is the along axis and includes bones that comprises the skull, vertebral column and rib cage.
What is the function of the Axial Skeleton?
It’s function is to protect & support various body parts.
What is the Appendicular Skeleton?
The appendicular skeleton formed by the upper, lower limbs and girdles which attach the limbs to the axial skeleton.
Describe a flat bone?
- resembles a plate - may have broad surfaces - may be thin and slightly curved.
What is the general purpose of flat bones?
Flat bones provide protection for underlying soft tissue.

Describe Irregular Bones?
They have different and complex shapes. They often connected to other bones.

Many facial bones and make up the vertebrae and pelvis.

They are small and often cube shaped.
