Above; toward the head
What are other ways to address the Superior plane?
Cranial/ Cephalic
Where is the inferior plane?
Below; Away from the head
What is another way to address the inferior plane?
Caudal
What is Midline?
Imaginary vertical line down the middle of the body
What does Medial mean?
Towards the middle of the body
What does lateral mean?
Towards the outside of he body

Back; Towards the back of the body
What does Proximal Mean?
Towards the origin.

Dorsal

1. Standing erect and facing observer
2. Feet are flat and directed forward
3. Arms are at sides
4. Palms are facing forward
5. Thumbs are pointing away from the body
What is Sagittal plane or Longitudinal plane?
Divides the body into right and left sections
What is the Transverse plane or Axial Plane?
Divides the body into upper and lower halves
What is the Coronal/ Frontal plane?
Divides the body into anterior and the posterior planes
