direct object pronouns replace
a noun that is the subject of a sentence.
eg. I throw the ball. - I throw it.
the pronoun comes
BEFORE the verb.
eg. I like veggies. - I like them.
J’aime les legumes. Je les aime.

translate and substitute the subject for a pronoun:
We ate your mother’s cakes
Nous avons mange’ les gateaux de ta me’re.
We ate them. Nous LES avons mange’.
if the verb is followed by a verb in the inf.
the pronoun comes before the inf.
eg. I like to watch it. J’aime LA regarder.
We are going to wait for you at the train station. Nous allons vous attendre a la gare.
before a vowel or “h”
me - m’
te - t’
le/la - l’
in passe composse
pronoun goes before the avoir or etre conjugation.
eg. Je l’ai vu ! - I saw it!
eg. Ils les ont mis dans leurs sacs - they put them in their bags
With the negatives the pronoun comes..
The pronoun goes AFTER the “ne”
eg. I don’t deserve it. Je ne LE merite’ pas.
eg. He doesn’t see her anymore. Il ne LA voit plus.
