Buffets (n)
Buffets are essentially the dining room version of a sideboard. These storage pieces stand on relatively high legs, leaving the top-level surface at an easily accessible level. Quite often, buffet tops are used for setting out drinks or food while serving, while the lower cabinet area is used for storage. Some buffets use glass doors so the lower area can be utilized as a display case, rather than a typical storage cabinet.
Servers (n)
Servers are very similar to buffets, however, they are usually smaller and more elegant in appearance. Servers have a smaller serving table that rests atop tall legs, with small cabinets or drawers underneath. Servers generally don’t have as much storage or display space as a buffet, but their elegant design makes them quite popular and useful for formal dining rooms.
Dining Bench (n)
a long, usually hard seat for two or more people
