what is digital media?
Digital Media is any method of storing, transmitting, receiving and manipulating data in digital form. It allows for the easy exchange of information in many ranges and forms which can be for entertainment, illustration or communication.

The five types of digital data is audio, visual, text, graphic and animation.
what are some digital media applications that are widely used for print media?
Adobe illustrator, Indesign, photoshop

Graphics is anything associated with digital art.

A graphic designer is a person who creates graphics for a living.
what is the responsibility of a graphic designer?
Their responsibility is to create visual concepts for print or online media.
what are devices that you could display digital media on?
Three devices that are used to display digital graphics are a phone, TV and computer.
what are data types for digital media products?
- Text (Any meaningful series of characters i.e ASCII (.txt), HTML, RTF)
- Graphics (Digitalised Images, i.e JPEG, GIF, BMP)
- Audio (Digital sound, i.e. MP3, WAV, MIDI)
- Video (Digitised Moving Images, i.e MOV, MPEG)
What is digitisation?
Digitisation is the process where data from analogue (data that is represented in a physical way) is converted into digital form.
what are some methods of digitalisation?
Two methods of digitisation is frame grabbing and scanning.
What is bitmapping?
Bitmapping is the storage of images in memory as a matrix of individual pixels or picture elements. Each pixel is either ON (white) and stored as the digital number 1 or OFF (black) and stored as 0.
What helps to store colour?
Bit depth helps to store colour graphic as it stores each individual colour and the “depth of colour”.
