17
Q

How does bandwidth and latency affect someone when playing video games?

A

Bandwidth has an effect by the amount of data being downloaded, the faster it is, the higher the quality, higher the game speed, less delay etc. Latency affects it by if there is lots of latency, there will be lag, games will be slow and experience lag.

18
Q

Explain two implications of cloud storage.

A

1) Hackers can get access and data and storage can be lost. 2) Cloud storage can make heavy use of bandwidth.

25
Q

Give three input devices needed to complete graphic design work.

A

Mouse, Graphic tablet, Stylus.

26
Q

What is a GUI?

A

Graphical User Interface, Users interact with the device by controlling a pointer or a touchscreen to select cons on a screen. GUI’s are used widely on PC’s and Smartphones.

27
Q

Advantages of GUI

A

It is simple and easy to use.
Doesn’t require commands unlike CLI.
Usually options to adapt the interface to your likening.

28
Q

Disadvantages of GUI

A

It’s often resource intensive, takes up memory and power.

Can be hard to complete tasks, easier with CLI.

29
Q

What is a CLI?

A

Command Line Interface, the user interacts with the the computer by typing in the commands in response to the prompts displayed on the screen.

30
Q

Advantages of CLI

A

Experienced users find it easier to complete tasks.

Requires less memory and less power than GUI.

31
Q

Disadvantages of CLI

A

Can be hard for beginners to understand

Requires the knowledge of all the commands.

32
Q

What is a Menu-Based Interface?

A

Menu-Based Interface is where the users interact with the menu that presents options such as a ATM.

33
Q

Advantages of Menu-Based Interface

A

Easy to use and often possible to figure out how to perform tasks w/out any instructions.
Can be options to adapt the interface.

34
Q

Disadvantages of Menu-Based Interface
