what are mainframe computers?
mainframe computers are large, powerful computers that are used for complex processing tasks.
what is a microprocessor and what does it do?
microprocessors contains all the functions of a central processing unit of a computer. It controls what a computer does.
what do multifunctional devices mean?
a device that includes a camera, has limited game playing functionality and a GPS
what does convergence mean?
when the designs of devices change so that they become similar to one another
what are peripheral devices?
they are devices that is connected to a computer and then used with it. for example, plotters, printers, keyboards, mouses etc.
what is a storage device?
storage Media means any media capable of collecting, storing, retrieving, or transmitting data, such as a hard drive, CD, DVD, or memory card
what does embedded computing mean?
a combination of computer hardware and software designed for a specific function.
what does physical computing mean?
interactive systems that can sense and response.
what is STB and what does it stand for?
STB stands for set-top box. It is a device that sends video and audio received from a broadcaster to a television.
what does flash memory mean?
it is a form of storage that stores data as electrical charges held in tiny electrical cells.
what does GPS stand for?
global positioning system
what is RAM and what does it stand for?
it stands for random access memory and it is used for running softwares.
what is a diaphragm?
a thin, round obect, especially in a telephone that is moved by sound or that moves when it produces sound.
what is analouge?
information with continuously variable electrical signals that digital signals apporiximate.
what is VoiP and what does it stand for?
is that for voice over internet protocol and it allows people to speak to other people using broadband internet.
