- ulcerative is 15 - 30 liquid stools
Crhons is 3 to 5 semi soft stools
define: leukoplakia
white small plaques that are smooth inside the mouth
precursor to oral cancer

swollen fragile blood vessels in the esophagus

inflow of gastric contents into lower esophagus
what is gastritis?
inflammation of the stomache

erosion of stomache or duodenum
caused by h pylori bacteria
what causes PUD
h pylori
IgG blood testing is test for what?
h pylori antibiotics
manifestations of gastritis are…..
heatburn
indigestion
nausea
vomitting
ab. cramping
pt teaching about diet r/t PUD
limit etoh, tabacco, caffine, chocolate
avoid foods that cause discomfort
eat smaller frequent meals ( six times a day)
medications that you will anticipate r/t to PUD
proton pump inhibitors
histamine 2 antagonist
prostglandin analogues
antacids
sucralfate
antibiotics - 2 usually Matroniadazole +
- amoxicillan
- clarithromycin
- tetracycline
define: thrush
white patches on inside of the mouth - is a fungus
pre op information for : apendicitis
- no heating/ warming pads
- no laxative enema or food
- no narcs. untill dx is verified
- keep pt in semifowlers
- etablish iv access (18 or 20)
- pt teach on recovery & procedure
