Name nine body parts involved in the digestive system.
Mouth, Throat, Esophagus, Stomach, Pancreas, Liver, Small Intestine, Large Intestine, Anus.
What happens when the food meets the mouth?
We chew our food to make it small enough to swallow.
What happens when the food meets the throat?
We swallow our food.
What happens at the stage of the Esophagus?
Our food is taken to the stomach.
What does the Pancreas do?
The Pancreas make the enzyme amylase to break down starch and it also makes insulin which facilitates the passage of glucose into every cell.
What does the liver do?
It produces an important digestive liquid called bile.
What does the stomach do?
The stomach breaks down food and takes some nutrition out of the food.
What does the Small Intestine do?
The Small Intestine takes most of the nutrition out of the food.
What doe s the Large Intestine do?
The Large Intestine takes any left over food that the Small Intestine could not break down.
What does the Anus do?
After the Large Intestine the Anus rids of any unwanted waste.
