What is digestion?
The breakdown of large insoluble molecules to small soluble molecules which pass into our blood and can be used by our cells.
What are all 9 organs in digestion?
Mouth, oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, pancreas, liver, large intestine, rectum, anus
Mouth
breaks food down into smaller pieces (saliva helps)
Oesophugas (gullet)
Tube from mouth to stomach
Small intestine
Has more enzymes
small molecules in the intestine are absorbed into the blood
Pancreas
Creates natural juices called pancreatic enzymes to break down food
Liver
Produces bile (helps break down food)
Large intestine
Absorbs water
Rectum
Storage for food
Anus
Exit of food turns to shit xoxoxoxox

Sugars are collectively known as carbohydrates. Foods rich in carbohydrates are bread, rice, pasta and sweet things. Carbohydrate foods are associated with food that quickly release energy.

Churns food, acid helps enzymes break down food.
