What do the parts of the digestive system do?
proteins,fats and most carbohydrates are too big for your body to use and need to be broken down into smaller pieces.Digestion turns large insoluble molecules into smaller soluble ones.Digestion occurs as your food passes through your gut(a tube made up of different organs).The gut and some other organs that help digestion(such as salivary glands, liver and pancreas) form the digestive system.
What are Enzymes?
Enzymes are substance that speed up the breaking down of large molecules into smaller ones.Substance that speed up the reactions.

mouth,esophagus,stomach,small intestine,large intestine, anus
what are the accessory organs in digestion?
teeth, tongue, and glandular organs such as salivary glands, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
what are the major types of nutrients and what are their constituents?
carbohydrates,proteins,fats,vitamins,minerals,dietary fibre,sugar and water
what are the stages in digestion?
Eat food.
Break down the food into tiny pieces.
Absorb nutrition into the body: move the small particles out of the digestive system and the rest of the body.
Get rid of the waste, which is anything your body can’t use.
what are the functions of nutrients?
They are the main source of energy for the body.
They help in building and repairing body tissues.
They Increases the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.
They Provides proper structure to the blood vessels, bones and ligaments.
