Differences Between farming and Nomadic Ways of Living Flashcards
Farming Life
Farming creates a surplus. A surplus means that people can focus on other jobs. This creates a division of labor. A division of labor can increase supplies and lead to the building of a civilization. That civilization can then trade. By trading, that society can develop more ideas. This can then create a new culture, language, and writing system. They can then conquer and expand.
Nomadic Life
Being a nomad means that you would never stay in the same spot. You would always be moving. You would just be following the animals. You would never be able to create a civilization. You would also always have to be hunting because you would never have enough food to survive for long.
