A diet which has to much or too little of a particular nutrient.

A health problem which is caused by having an unbalance diet.

How we lead our lives eg how much physical activity we engage in

This describes risk factors that can be changes or altered.
What does non-modifiable mean?
This describes risk factors that cannot be changed or altered.
What is the risk factor?
Something that increases your chances of getting a disease
What is physical health?
This relates to the body and it’s functioning
What is your diet?
The food we eat
What is a strategy
A careful plan or method
What is mental health?
This relates to our emotional health.
What are 8 tips for eating well?
- Base meals on high fibre starchy food
- Eat lost of fruit & veg
- Eat more fish
- Cut down on saturated fat and sugar
- Try to eat less salt
- Get active and try to be a healthy weight
- Drink plenty of water
- Don’t skip Breakfast.
What can an unbalanced diet lead to?

What is energy balance?
The state reached when energy input equals energy expenditure.
What is the moderate physical activity for an adolescent per week?
60 minutes per day.
What disease can eating sugar lead to?
Obesity, heart disease, some cancers and type 2 diabetes
What is the recommended amount of sugar that a teenager have in one day?
30g/7 cubes.
What is cardiovascular disease? (CVD)
It’s a general term for conditions affecting the heart or blood vessels.
Why does CVD occur?
When one or more of the coronary arteries is narrowed or blocked with fatty deposits/cholesterol.
What is the importance of receiving a peak bone mass
Reducing the risk of osteoporosis in later life
What is obesity?
Excessive fat accumulated that could impact health
