Lipids help with moving and storing energy, absorbing vitamins and making hormones
Chemical tests for glucose
Benedict’s solution - heat + glucose + copper sulphate, blue to red
Chemical test for protein
Biurets - dilute alkaline + copper sulphate, blue to purple
Chemical tests for starch
Starch + iodine, orange/brown to blue/black
Chemical test for fats (lipids)
Food dissolve in ethanol dribble in water, clear colourless to cloudy white
