6
Q

Diffusive transport

A

Passive movement of solutes down a concentration gradient
Need a concentration gradient, small molecular weight solutes, and a membrane with appropriate charge and size
Responsible for clearance of most solutes

7
Q

Convective transport

A

Active movement
Achieved by pressure gradient (do get some solute drag)
Water is pushed/pulled through the membrane
