ASA classifications
1) elective care (implants) may be done to ASA III possibly
age is usually not a consideration

alcohol and long term use of NSAIDS
1) > 3x units per day/ risk of implant failure
2) NSAIDS interfere with bone healing > peri-implantitis
absolute contraindications
1) body dysmorphic syndrome
2) non-compliance
long trvival in pt with radiation therapy
1) still as pretty high 5 year survival rate
2)have to wait
organ transplant patients
1) still do pretty well
hx of chemotherapy patients
1) do pretty well with implants
HIV
1) 93.1% a little higher risk of failure
2) depends on CD4+ count and healing
relative contraindications
1) smoking
2) bruxism
3) SSRIs
3) history of chronic periodontitis
