high lasts for a short period of time
kleptomania
recurrent, irresistible urge to steal
can develop at any age
don’t need things that are stolen
ppl w this disorder suffer from depression and anxiety
pyromania
fascination with fire
lights fire without the intention to damage
risk factor: boredom, conflict at home/ school, stress
occur at a young age
tension built up when they light the fire, but leave once the fire is lit
builds even greater as the fire becomes bigger
30% suicidal
gambling disorder
destroys lives
involves built up tension
ppl w disorder show same type of physical and behavioural signs as people that are alcoholics
Pattern for at least 12 months before diagnosis is made
takes over basic day-to-day tasks
