Autism Spectrum Disorder
Persistent Difficulties with social communication AND social interaction AND exhibits repetitive behaviors
Social ( Pragmatic) Communication Disorder
Persistent difficulties with social communication without repetitive behavior
Delusions
Fixed, rigid beliefs that are incongruent with reality ( ex. the helicopter is out to get me) Delusions exist within cognition
Hallucinations
Sensory driven, perception like experiences of non- existent external stimuli - experienced in both cognition and senses.
Negative symptoms
reduction or absence of typical behavior, such as diminished emotional expression or decrease in motivation for meaningful behavior.
Schizotypal Personality Disorder
Patterns of social and interpersonal impairments/deficits evident by discomfort and reduced capacity for close relationships, accompanied by distorted perceptions and eccentricities of behavior
Delusional Disorder
Diagnosable when there has been a presence of a delusion for one month or longer, and the client doesn’t meet full criteria for schizophrenia either historically or currently
Brief Psychotic Disorder
Diagnosable when there is a presence of at least one of the following :
Delusions
Hallucinations
Disorganized Speech
Grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior
Duration of symptom is at least one day and less than one month
Schizophreniform Disorder
Minimum of two or more of the following:
Delusions
Hallucinations
Disorganized Speech
Grossly Disorganized or catatonic Behavior
Negative Symptoms
Present for one month but no more than 6 months
Schizophrenia
At least two of the following, 1 of which must be one of the first three listed.
Delusions
Hallucinations
Disorganized Speech
Grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior
Negative Symptoms
Minimum presence for 1 month period and evidence of impairment in functioning must be present.
Schizoaffective Disorder
At least two of the following: 1 must be of the first three listed.
Delusions
Hallucinations
Disorganized Speech
Grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior
Negative Symptoms
Plus the presence of a major mood episode( Major depressive or Manic)
Insomnia disorder
Dissatisfaction with sleep quantity or quality, causing significant distress with disturbances occurring at least 3 nights per week for 3 months.
Hypersomnolence Disorder
Excessive Sleepiness driven by too much sleep, occurring at least 3 nights per week for a minimum of three months
Narcolepsy
Recurrent episodes of need to sleep which can result in suddenly falling asleep occurring 3x’s a week for 3 months
Manic episode
At least 4 of the symptoms of mania, causes marked impairment in social or occupational functioning or necessitates hospitalization to prevent harm to self or others or is present with a psychotic features. Duration must be at least one week.
Hypomanic Episode
At least 3 of the 7 symptoms of mania for a minimum of 4 days. does not require marked impairment in functioning or necessitation of hospitalization
Bipolar I Disorder
Presence of a Manic Episode
Bipolar II Disorder
Clients must meet criteria for a current or past hypomanic episode and a current or past major depressive episode
Cyclothymic Disorder
Over a minimum of two years, client has demonstrated both hypomanic symptoms and major depressive symptoms that do not meet full criteria for either hypomanic or major depressive episode
Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder
Severe and recurrent outburst of temper that are expressed either verbally or behaviorally that are determined to be gross overreactions to the situation priming the reactive outburst.
Major Depressive Disorder
Minimum of 5 of the 9 symptoms of major depression, 1) of which having to be depressed mood or 2) loss of interest or pleasure all of which are present within a two week period
Persistant Depressive Disorder
Report of evidence of depressed mood, most of the day, more days than not, for a minimum of two years with 2 or more symptoms of major depressive disorder
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
A minimum of 5 symptoms disrupting mood and or anxiety that are present in the final weeks before menses and start to diminish within a few days after menses, ultimately dissipating a week after menses.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
An excess of fear/anxiety/worry more days than not for a minimum of 6 months evident by 3 of the 6 symptoms of anxiety. Individual struggles to control the worry causing significant impairment
